Price transparency
How our prices work, and why none are advertised here
Air fares, hotel rates and cruise fares move daily and differ by date, party and availability. A headline figure on a web page would be out of date before you read it. This is what we do instead.
The planner gives a band. The quotation gives a price.
The itinerary planner on this site produces an indicative planning band: a low and a high figure for a trip of the shape you described. It exists so you can tell, in about a minute, whether what you have in mind is a three thousand euro holiday or a nine thousand euro one, before either of us spends an afternoon on it.
This is a planning tool. It is not a quotation, not an offer and not a booking. No payment is taken anywhere on this website. The price you pay is the price on the written quotation we issue for your actual dates, with every charge itemised, and it is confirmed before any money changes hands.
The bands are compiled from publicly observable market ranges and reviewed on a stated date. Model version 2026.09 was reviewed on 2026-09-11, and the figures behind it are published at /api/v1/itinerary-model so you can read them yourself.
What a written quotation contains
- The total price, in euro, for the whole party.
- Every component it covers: flights, baggage allowance, accommodation with board basis, transfers, car hire, experiences.
- Every charge that makes up that total, including any service fee we charge, shown as a line rather than folded in.
- What is not included and must be paid separately, including anything paid at the destination.
- The supplier whose terms govern the booking, and the deposit and balance dates.
- The cancellation and amendment charges that apply, and when they start to apply.
- How long the quoted price is held before it has to be rechecked.
What you will never get from us
- A price that changes after you accept it, unless you ask for a change or a supplier applies a charge its terms allow, and we tell you which it is first.
- A compulsory extra that only appears at the payment stage.
- A "free" that is not free, or a discount from a price nobody was ever charged.
- A payment taken through this website. There is no checkout here at all.
- A booking made on your behalf before you have accepted a quotation in writing.
Cancellation and refunds
Cancellation and amendment charges are set by the airline, hotel, cruise line or tour operator that holds the booking, not by us. They differ enormously: a flexible fare may be refundable to the day of travel, while a discounted package may be non-refundable from the moment the deposit is taken. Whichever applies to your booking is stated in the written quotation, before you accept it.
Where what you buy is a package or a linked travel arrangement, the European Union (Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements) Regulations 2019 give you statutory rights in addition to those terms, including rights about significant changes to the trip and about the organiser's insolvency. Those rights cannot be signed away. The organiser named on your confirmation is the party that holds the insolvency protection.
If you want to cancel or change something, ring +353 43 333 4500 or email info@kanestravelagency.com. We will tell you what it costs before we do anything.
